A Worthy Course

"And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." Act 6:1-4 KJV

Church growth is a massive thing, but it also comes with some great responsibilities as well

We saw a massive salvation on the day of Pentecost: about three thousand men were saved on that particular day, and forward, scripture made it clear that multitudes joined the fellowship of believers. But as the early Church grew, challenges began to surface. It is recorded that the Grecians murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily ministrations. The Grecians are also referred to as the Hellenist; they are Jews born and breed diaspora, that is among the Greeks and therefore were raised with Greek culture. Meaning live, eat, dress and think like someone who is from Greece. Even though they were Hebrews, they live like the Greeks and speaks Greek. It is just like a Ghanaian who is born and lived in Chine since birth and therefore lived Chinese culture as compared to a locally born and groomed Ghanaian. So the Grecians (those who were born and lived in Greece) murmured against the Hebrews ( the local people), and the reason being that when monies and food are being distributed, their widows were not treated fairly. When the issue is made known to the apostles, scripture said, the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason ( not right, not desirable, unacceptable, not appropriate, not pleasing to God) that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
The apostles were very careful not to get side tracked by other even which will taken them away from the main work. Most a times, many people were not able to focus for long. They are quickly removed from what they should be focusing on to other things which are secondary and make it their main thing. A young man whom God has called to server in the ministry began with great zeal to please his Lord, but as he grew in the faith, the desire for fame and to be worthy began to crouch at his door and he is soon removed from the call to preach prosperity in stead of the message God gave him for the world.  Likewise a young lady who found love and they both committed themselves in the covenant of marriage, but as times aged, the desire to be worthy and live a luxurious life entered her heart and destroyed her marriage. Peter and the rest of the apostles saw this snare early and remedied the situation. Peter stood among the believers and declare, But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. The duty of the apostles is prayer and ministration of the word.  What is the reason God sent you to the planet earth?, what is the purpose for your existence?. Paul was called an apostle to the gentiles, peter to the Jews, Samuel to anoint kings and Jeremiah a Prophet to the nations. When the Lord appeared to me eight hears ago, he said, I have called you an apostle to the nations. You have a purpose for which you are alive. As Dr Myles Munroe said, " it is better to die and not know life than to live and not know why." It is very important for you to know the "why" of your existence and commit every resource to push it forward. That is the "Worthy Course". Fine that today and commit to it to experience a worthy life. Blessings.

The way forward

To be side tracked is to be removed from the main thing you should be doing to secondary things. The main thing in your life is the reason why you're sent into this world, the reason why God created you. You must discover your main thing. When I was 18, the Lord appeared to me in the village, in my father's house, 12 midnight and said, I have called you an apostles to the nations. Then, I never understood what it meant but now I more than do. So I run the race set before with patience endurance, to the end, receive the crown which my lord will give me on that great day of judgement and of rewards. The reason for which you are born is what will give you relevance on earth so you must fine it and commit to it all available resource at your disposal. Your time, money, energy, etc.

(The bigger umbrella of the organization which is SALVATION COMMISSION WORLDWIDE will be starting THE PURPOSE CLASSROOM soon. Be sure to sign up when the program is rolled out.)

Lord, lead me to the cross road of my gift to discover myself and live the purpose for which you have ordained me, in the name of Jesus. Amen

HERALDS ON A MISSION

" Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. " Act 8:4 BSB When persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, the believers scattered all throughout Judea and the regions of Samaria preaching the gospel everywhere they went .  Samaritans are half bread Jews.  In the time of the Roman Empire, the region of Samaria was the central part of Palestine and along with the neighbouring region of Judea was governed from Caesarea. The origins of the Samaritans go back to Old Testament times, when Samaria was the name of the chief city of the region. After Assyria had conquered the central and northern parts of Israel and taken the people into captivity (722 BC), it moved people from other parts of its empire into Samaria and surrounding towns. These settlers intermarried with Israelites still left in the land and combined the Israelite form of worship with their own. This resulted in a race of mixed blood and mixed religion known as the Samaritans (2 Ki...

A JOURNEY TO MEET DESTINY

" As Saul drew near to Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” “Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless. They heard the voice but did not see anyone. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could not see a thing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was without sight, and he did not eat or drink anything .
